Our Mission
Founded in 2012 by a courageous group of intersex and transgender individuals in Nairobi, we began as a safe space for dialogue and solidarity. Today, we stand as Kenya's leading advocate for Intersex, Transgender, and Gender Non-Conforming (ITGNC) communities.
Our work is rooted in a simple yet radical belief: every person deserves freedom, dignity, and the right to live authentically.

National Transgender Advocacy Network (NTAN)
Founded in 2018 and co-chaired by Jinsiangu and Trans*Alliance Kenya, NTAN advocates for ITGNC rights in Kenya. It drives change through healthcare training, policy reforms, and national advocacy, contributing to Kenya's 2024 UPR Shadow Report and ITGNC safety with the Kenya Police.

Launched in 2024 with the motto "No Intersex Child Left Behind," KIPC unites intersex-led orgs to advance rights through research, healthcare guidelines, and legal recognition. It has also trained educators to support intersex students nationwide.

Through NTAN, Jinsiangu collaborates with ATN to connect Kenyan advocacy with regional and global movements. This partnership strengthens leadership, amplifies voices, and pushes inclusive policies for trans diverse people across Africa.

The African Intersex Movement (AIM), founded in 2017 and registered in Kenya in 2025 as the African Intersex Alliance Network, is a regional network organization advancing the human rights, visibility, and inclusion of intersex persons across Africa. Hosted fiscally by Jinsiangu, AIM coordinates advocacy, accountability, and resource mobilization linking national, regional, and global movements.
Core Mission: AIM's work focuses on movement building, policy advocacy, research, and leadership development to eliminate stigma, harmful medical practices, and discrimination in key sectors. The organization promotes equality, dignity, and justice through inclusive and intersectional approaches.
Strategic Partnerships & Collaborations:
AIM collaborates with bodies such as the ACHPR, African Union, UN agencies, CSOs and global intersex networks to promote African-centered and decolonized narratives. Through this work, AIM strengthens intersex leadership and promotes equality, dignity, and justice through inclusive and intersectional approaches.

• Policy Advocacy: Engaging with regional and continental bodies to integrate intersex rights into human rights frameworks
• Research & Documentation: Publishing comprehensive reports on intersex human rights across Africa
• Leadership Development: Training intersex advocates through fellowship programs and capacity building initiatives
Decolonization Approach:
AIM promotes African-centered narratives that challenge Western medical models and centers indigenous understanding of bodily diversity. The network emphasizes community-led solutions and traditional acceptance of intersex persons in various African cultures.
