Bodies Unbound Exhibit
Jinsiangu creates and supports opportunities for I.T.GNC people to thrive as artists and the creative exploration of I.T.GNC identity.
In 2015, Jinsiangu created its first art project, “Bodies Unbound,” hosted at the British Institute in Eastern Africa. The exhibit was the first ever Kenyan art exhibition with a focus on gender minority issues and celebrating I.T.GNC bodies and experiences.
Bodies Unbound explored ways of life and identities beyond conventional gender classifications. Highlighting the creativity and determination of I.T.GNC people, as well as the difficult and sometimes questionable compromises I.T.GNC people are sometimes forced to make to survive.
