Jinsiangu had the pleasure of hosting a team of member organization representatives from the South-South Learning Network (SSLN) at our offices during the month of February, 2022. The SSLN is an initiative of the Global HIV Prevention Coalition (GPC), which aims to strengthen country HIV prevention programmes through shared learning of good country practices. Through the network, countries gain experiential knowledge from peers, harness and share good prevention learnings, and inform grant-making and technical assistance needs; thus getting empowered to adapt interventions that are suitable to the unique African context.
As one of the key learning sites in Kenya under the project, Jinsiangu provided a platform for prevention managers and implementers from 10 African countries to learn best practices from how Jinsiangu implements its work under the Key Population programme, with a special focus on Intersex, Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming (ITGNC) persons. The guests had a chance to interact with various departments within Jinsiangu and meet community members, and got first hand accounts of how different programmes are run and their benefits from participating members. They also got a tour of our center of excellence, which included a showcase of the recently unveiled Jinsiangu Production Studio that aims to be an advocacy platform.
